Instructions for connecting to the TFS-ICAP Volbroker Currency Options Trade Blotter via the Internet and downloading trade details (Microsoft Excel Format).

Step 1.

In Microsoft Internet Explorer go to URL https://www.volbroker.com/tradeblotter

Enter TFS-ICAP authorised Username and Password.

Step 2.

Once the following page is displayed, check the ‘Your Institution’ box (bottom left of page). Then left click on ‘Display Trades’ (bottom left of page).

Step 3.

Left click on the trade ID to launch a new browser window showing the complete details of each leg (fig 4A)

Step 4.

A new browser window will open showing the complete details of the selected Trade (each leg shown independently). Click ‘Next’ to browse through to next leg.

Step 5.

If required, a trade can be confirmed from the web blotter.

·         All trades will appear in the blotter in red initially. (Trade not confirmed by either counter party)

Check the boxes of each leg of the trade/trades that are to be confirmed.

Left Click on ‘Confirm Details For Selected Trades’ bottom right.

·         The Trade detail will now change to a purple colour (Trade confirmed by you).

·         This trade will change to a blue colour in your counterparty’s Trade Blotter (Trade Confirmed by your Counterparty).

·         Once your Counterparty confirms this detail the trade will change to black (Trade confirmed by both counterparties (not downloaded))

·         Once both counterparties confirm the detail, the trade can be downloaded.

Step 6.

Trade details that have been confirmed by both counterparties (Black) can be downloaded. These trade details are in a .vbd format, which is a comma separated value file that can be opened in Microsoft Excel.

·         Check the boxes of each leg of the trade/trades that are to be downloaded.

·         Left Click on ‘Download Selected Trades’ bottom right.

·         Left Click on ‘OK’ in the following dialog box.


Step 7.

·         A ‘File Download’ dialog box will ask if you want to open or save the file.

·         Select ‘Save’.

Step 8.

·         Select a location to ‘Save’ the file.

·         Click on Save button (bottom right)

Step 9.

·         Once file download is complete click on the ‘Close’ button.

Step 10.

·         Launch Microsoft Excel.

·         Select Open file (CTRL + O).

·         Ensure ‘Files of Type’ reads ‘All Files’

·         Browse to the ‘vbtrades.vbd’ file that was previously downloaded and select this file.

·         Click on ‘Open’ button.

Step 11.

·         A Text Import Wizard will open.

·         Select ‘Delimited’ for ‘Original data type’.

·         Click on ‘Next’ button.

Step 12.

·         Select ‘Comma’ for Delimiters.

·         Click on ‘Next’ button.

·         Click on ‘Finish’ button.

·         File will now open in Excel format.
